It seems that every time I listen to the news there is another story about someone being killed. Just this week there was a story of a girl killed by a man and woman searching for drugs. There was another story of a man stabbed to death at a rest stop on the interstate. There is evil all around us every day. In Louisville, Kentucky there were 15 homicides in the first two months this year as compared to only two the previous year for the same period.
It is easy to be frightened by the evil and wickedness in the world. Sometimes we are overwhelmed by the problems we face. John assures us that the power of God that lives within us is much greater than any evil or sin that we may face in our world.
Challenge: When you face evil and obstacles, turn to God for strength to overcome and conquer anything that the Devil may throw your way. God is stronger and will help you conquer all evil.
