Then the Lord said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is immense, and their sin is extremely serious. I will go down to see if what they have done justifies the cry that has come up to Me. If not, I will find out.” Genesis 18:20-21 HCSB
Our church had planned to begin renovations on our preschool/children’s area in June of this year. For a variety of reasons we have delayed the start of the project. Because we have been anxious for the work to begin it has been hard to wait and be patient; however, as a result of our delay we have made some wise choices to improve the space to be renovated that will enable us to provide a much more secure and better learning environment for our children.
God is very patient. He has shown His love and patience in many different situations throughout the Bible. God did not want to administer justice to Sodom and Gomorrah. Their sins were great and deserved His judgment but His desire was for the people to repent and turn from their evil ways.
Challenge: God is still waiting. He wants all people to have the opportunity to turn to Him and receive His gift of forgiveness that is available through His Son, Jesus Christ. Those who are wise will turn to Him before His patience runs out. Read 2 Peter 3:9.
