Who can find a capable wife? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will not lack anything good. She rewards him with good, not evil, all the days of her life. Proverbs 31:10-12 HCSB
God has blessed me with a wonderful wife who is more than I could ever have asked for or dreamed of. She is my best friend and companion and is a good mother to our children and grandmother to our grandchildren. She is willing to do anything for our family. She is happiest when we are able to spend time with our children and grandchildren. God provided me with exactly what I needed.
It seems appropriate that Solomon would end his Proverbs with the description of the perfect woman who has strong character, great wisdom, many skills, and compassion. Note that there is no mention of the woman’s physical beauty because her beauty comes from within. The capable wife is more valuable than rare and valuable jewels.
Challenge: Tell your wife or mother how much you appreciate her. Thank her for all the things she does for you. Thank God for giving you a capable wife or mother.
